The Route

We plan to start on Sunday 3rd August from underneath the Doom Painting in St Thomas’s Church, Salisbury.  We should finish on Wednesday 13th August at the shrine of St Thomas in Canterbury Cathedral.

We plan to follow well established paths – so we will start on the Clarendon Way from Salisbury to Winchester Cathedral, then onto the St Swithun’s Way which takes us to Farnham. Here the North Downs Way leads us along much of the old Pilgrim’s Way to Canterbury Cathedral. See the table and day route maps below for more detail.

We will visit the 4 Cathedrals of Salisbury, Winchester, Guildford and Rochester along the way – hopefully taking a message from our Rector (the Rural Dean) to the communities we visit.

We hope to stay with members of the parishes that we visit and have already had a very kind response from those that we have asked.
