The Pilgrims are now on their Pilgrimage! Fi, Jonathan and Rhona left Salisbury Cathedral at 9.40 AM this morning, after a prayer at the Font……
Blessing for people going on a journey:
maker of all the world,
bless these friends as they prepare for their journey.
Be with them on every road,
on every hill, meadow and stream,
under cloud, under stars,
through storm and in sunshine.
Guard them O Father,
protect them O Christ,
guide them O Holy Spirit,
now, and in weariness,
now, and in delight,
now, and in danger,
now, and in journey’s ending.
Enfold them in your love,
and surround them with your care,
that they may sing your song
every step of the way.
God bless the road that is before you;
God bless the friends who are around you;
God bless to you His love which is within you.

Inspired by ancient Celtic ‘journey prayers’
After this prayer, they set off to St Thomas’s through the West Door…..
During the short walk between Salisbury Cathedral and St Thomas’s – the Pilgrims found time to pose for an iconic photo….
At St Thomas’s, they were met by many of the congregation, family and friends. The Reverend Cannon David Linaker said another prayer at 10am – before sending the Pilgrims on their way to Canterbury!
Good luck to our Pilgrims for their journey! There will now be daily posts updating our blog followers on the Pilgrims progress.
